About Tom
Associate Physiotherapist · Queensland Physio Group
Tom is a physiotherapist with a passion for helping people move well and get back to doing what they love. Like most physiotherapists, Tom was drawn to the profession through a lengthy experience playing AFL, rugby, cricket and athletics. Injuries such as lumbar stress fractures, ACL tears and multiple shoulder, elbow, ankle and knee dislocations meant Tom spent plenty of time learning first-hand what great physiotherapy looks and feels like.
He holds a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Bond University, where he graduated on the Vice Chancellor’s List, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) from the University of Sydney. Alongside his work at Queensland Physio Group, Tom is a physiotherapist with the Gold Coast Suns, working across the Academy, AFLW and VFL programs. His clinical experience spans elite sporting environments including Western Force Super Rugby, Stanford University, the Sydney Swans Academy, The Southport School’s First XV and XI, and NSW Schoolboys Rugby Union, and he is currently head physiotherapist for NSW Junior Rugby Union.
Tom brings this high-performance background to every patient, whether you’re a weekend athlete managing a nagging injury or someone simply wanting to move without pain. He works across manual therapy, exercise prescription, dry needling and return-to-sport rehabilitation planning, and takes a collaborative, evidence-based approach to designing return-to-activity pathways tailored to each individual’s goals. Tom’s clinical focus is sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a special interest in hamstring and lower limb muscle injuries, shoulder injuries, complex knee pathologies, lower back pain and ligament rehabilitation.
Outside the clinic, Tom loves the gym, plays golf and runs recreationally, so he understands firsthand what it takes to stay active and injury-free. He also has a brilliant knack for naming cows on his family farm in country NSW.
