About Lachy

Senior Physiotherapist · Queensland Physio Group

Lachy was drawn to physiotherapy because it brings together two things he genuinely enjoys: helping people, and understanding how the body works. He is naturally curious and likes working through complex or persistent problems, but he keeps the process clear and practical for the person in front of him. He listens first, explains what he thinks is happening in a way you actually understand, then builds a plan around the activities and goals that matter to you. He does his best work with tendon pain, particularly Achilles, plantar fascia and hamstring tendon injuries, along with knee and sporting injuries including ACL and ligament injuries, instability and return-to-sport rehabilitation, and he has considerable experience with neck pain, neck-related headaches, whiplash and acute shoulder injuries.

He works with people of all ages and activity levels, with a particular interest in children and teenagers, and especially enjoys helping people who feel stuck or uncertain about their injury. A first session is about understanding not just the injury but how it is affecting you and what you want to get back to, so you leave with a clear plan, including what you can safely keep doing, and confidence in what happens next. To Lachy, good physiotherapy leaves you with more than temporary symptom relief: you should understand what is happening and become increasingly confident managing your body independently.

An injury also should not automatically mean stopping everything you enjoy, so wherever it is safe he will keep you involved in training, sport or your usual activities while you progressively rebuild capacity. He is the physiotherapist at Momentum Sports Performance Centre and was previously physio for Bond University AFL, and has supported athletes competing in the VFL, QAFL and QRL along with Basketball Queensland programs. Outside the clinic he runs, enjoys pushing heavy things around in the gym, bakes sourdough, and is slowly working his way through every coffee shop on the Coast.
